Any help with where to find a 7" barrel? They are on eBay 450.00 is that the going price? Or are they more reasonable else where ? Thanks in advance! Jason

I have seen some over at rimfire central lately in the $200 range. You might try watching over there if you are patient. $400 seems to be about the normal price on Fleabay.

I had been looking for about 8 or 10 years, and at various times had "notify me" requests at various dealers in addition to searching dealers, but never found one and gave up. Last night, I read this thread, and searched again. Voila! there it was at MidwayUSA. I waited until this morning thinking that they might offer free shipping, and sure enough....

I bought my 41 and found out it is an older one with a cocking indicator on it, as near as I can tell it's a 1958 . The barrel on it is not the original and is 5.5". I thought I'd try to find one with the lazy ampersand on it .thanks for all the advice!

I'm assuming that you are asking about a original style barrel for the 1958 model 41 that you posted about last month. If so, you do not want a 7" barrel but rather you need a 7 3/8" barrel with an attached muzzle break. Ideally, it would also include a false muzzle cap, aluminum barrel weight, and the steel barrel weight. The top strap of the barrel will be finely checkered, stamped with the lazy ampersand, and finished to match your 1958 frame.

Unfortunately, the price of the barrel will be much more than what a new 7" will cost. I paid $500 for mine but that included the complete kit in the box. I thought it was a bargain at that price five years ago!

Patience is required but they are out there and I wish you luck in finding one.

Your barrel is in great shape!! The one I've found on eBay pales in comparison to that one, and it doesn't come with the break and barrel weight either . Thanks for the info . I will keep looking !

IMHO the price is all dependent on the condition. A few years ago I paid what I thought was too much for a brand new in the original box, 5" "Sporter-Field barrel" for my 1979 M41. They are not easy to come by and this one was made in the late 1950-s or early 1960's. Other than maybe factory test shots it had never been on a gun or used - that's my style! When I went to the LGS I brought my M41 with me and the barrel fit absolutely perfectly and didn't have a mark on it.

After having it on my gun for a few years, I have NEVER remounted the original 5.5" Bull Barrel as I find this one is so much better. I shoot it much better than the original as well.

I paid $500 for the Sporter barrel which was more than the original purchase price of the brand new gun in 1979 - lol! That said - I have never regretted it!

$450 seems to be in the ball park - maybe a smidgeon high, but nothing way out of whack imho.
