Model 41 box ?

Did the card board insert that goes in an early (5 digit or less serial number) Model 41 box always have the magazine cut outs. I have a box serial numbered to my gun, but the card board insert only has the cut out for the 7 3/8" barreled gun. No cut outs for the magazine(s).
