I bought a used (1977) mod 41. Took it out and tried 3 different brands of ammo. The best ran about 85% of the time, the only problem seem to be light firing pin strikes, rechambered the dented rounds and they fired.
Got a new pin and spring and while changing them out this morning, the old pin was broken! Could this old broken pin work? or could I have broken it while hitting a snap cap?
Going out now to test

If the broken pin's two pieces still made adequate contact with each other, it might work intermittently. Because the force that the broken pin hits with would be less (the force is lessened with a broken pin as there is a gap between the pieces), FTF or light hits would occur. Broken pins won't occur with the use of Snap Caps, that's the reason behind using them. What damages the firing pin is when they are NOT used.
