I am trying to find the value of a model 41 with a serial #10035. It has a 7" barrel with vented add on 1.5 " . A friend bought this gun about 50 years ago and has only shot it about 200 times Gun is in good condition with just some light handling scratches Blueing is not faded or worn

The SCSW is not much help. It says "serial number range beginning 1954 starts at 1001 and continues to 115000 in 1970." The first commercially available model 41 was serial #1401. In general a really nice model 41 seems to command around a grand. A very cursory look at closed auctions on Gun Broker for closed auctions resulting in a sale roughly show a range of about $800 - $2000 for model 41's (excluding .22 short version). A rough quick look suggest the model 41's of your vintage with cocking indicator might bring closer to the $1200 range. Box and accessories add value.

Put up some pictures and you will get a lot more information. As the saying goes pictures are worth a 1000 words. These early Model 41s can be found with new parts that are not period, a photo will help.
The serial number is from 1958.

Serial Number 10xxx is likely 1958-1959. If you have the original box and paper with that, you have a winner, If not, you still have a fine Model 41. post some pix and we can help you out better. It is IDEAL that you have a chance to buy from the original owner. Always ask for box, extra magazines and other tid-bits. Most times you'll find the owner saying ... where did I put that box ? The original box on that one, in Excellent condition is a $200 box (empty). Look for white grease marking on bottom of box with serial number of gun. Let us know how you did.

Guns of that vintage have been known to sell for up to $2100. on Gunbroker but that is very rare. Sounds like a very nice gun which I happen to own one very similar from that year as well. The barrel is actually 7 and 3/8th inchs long when measured correctly also.

Pictures will definitely help the situation. I would get a letter as Tom has stated for serious and accurate info.
