Model 41 Engraved Target Grips

I expect that these grips will sell for a very high dollar if they were on a auction site. :p

Here's my Hämmerli Lux grade Free Pistol. You can see the Oak Leaf carving style on the grips. This is the only one I've ever encountered in Left Hand.

Best regards,
Jim

I think you are right the carving and background technique look identical. I did not know they made accessories for guns other than their own.

The stocks in post 14 and 19 appear to me to be from the same stock maker.
The pattern left by the mechanical cutter (post 14) that can be seen in my mind throw weight to a production stockmaker like Herrett or Sanderson.

Hi Ed,

Back then, Hämmerli did all their own grips and stocks. If I recall correctly, they even had an in-house wood mill. With the early free pistols, they weren't sold as stock items. You had to order from the factory and fill out an order form specifying a number of preferences and include a tracing of you hand. Totally custom work.

Jim
