Greetings All,
I have finally acquired a NOS EFS barrel for my Model 41. I have searched everywhere to find what size allen wrench this barrel takes to tighten/loosen the extendable front sight. I am quite sure someone on this site has the answer I'm looking for. Thank you all so much for the immense knowledge on this forum! I am also in search of a 7 and 3/8" barrel for the 41:)

I HAVE ONE, BUT, NEVER LOOKED AT THE SIZE WRENCH,,
I get the next to the smallest out of the set, it fits,,

If it does not come loose easily,, DO NOT FORCE IT.

Spray it with some Kroil, tap the screw using the allen wrench as a punch,,
THEN, try to tighten it slightly, before trying to loosen the screw.

In most sets, next to the smallest is 1/16”, which sounds about right for most small set screws. Buy a good American made set, not HF or such.

The screws are already loose. I just don't want to take the chance on boogering them up. it would be far too costly to try and replace them or worse, having to repair them for not using the right tool from the start.

Just very curious if the front extension sight ever works loose and becomes "less accurate" over time. I have the 5 1/2" bull and 5" Field bbl. on my M41 but always wondered about that. For those of you who have shot them extensively I'd be interested to know.

1st, the original question is solved and Kp321 and Model52guy are correct. It is a 1/16' allen bit that fits the sight rib barrel extension correctly. Thank You guys for that information!
2nd, I have shot these barrels extensively and never had an issue with them working loose. I would however suggest NOT over tightening the screws AND keep them clean and lubed. I can imagine it would be nothing short of a nightmare to try and repair one that is over tightened and stuck.
Once again Thank You for the information and Be Safe out there. Shoot often and ENJOY those model 41's or whatever else you're shooting!
