I am new to target pistol shooting and have bought a Performance Center Model 41. So far it has performed flawlessly. However, when I last field stripped it the slide stop mechanism fell off of the frame. There appear to be 2 nubs that fit into holes in the frame but there is nothing to hold it in place. Is this a common problem? Is the part defective? Thanks for your help.

No defect. The back edge of the slide stop fits under a small. "flange" at the back that acts as a retainer.

Yes. Icelander is correct. It is very hard to see but if you look really carefully, almost need magnification, you can see a small flange on the slide stop that fits UNDER or BEHIND another flange built into the frame. We're talking a couple of mm difference between how far out from the frame the slide stop sticks out by just sticking the slide stop into the hole in the frame versus getting the one flange behind the other. FINESS the slide stop into position. FINESS. The slide will NOT fit otherwise.
