Are some of the Model 41 magazines designed so that the spring cannot be replaced and cleaned internally or is there a different way to open the mags that do not have the hole in the bottom?

I've run into a couple of these before. They can be disassembled by drilling your own hole. Using an existing mag with a hole as a template measure for the hole location and drill a hole of the same size. Be sure to center punch the hole location so the drill doesn't wander when you start drilling.
At some point they spot welded the base plates on but I don't think they do that anymore.
Or only buy mags with the hole.:)

If you don't want to drill a hole. you can use a hook - see below - inserted in the side of the magazine to depress the spring then slide the base off. It might need a little persuading with a wooden or rubber mallet.
