Model 41 Optic Sight

I'm in the process of buying a S&W Model 41. To counter aging eyes, I think I want to install a red-dot sight or some sort of optic sight. Any suggestions?

I have had great luck with the Ultra Dot L/T sight. I is small and suits the 41 to scale. It is not a tube sight however and some do not like that. I happen to like it a lot. Very similar to the Docter and JP sights.
I also have a tube sight on a larger frame revolver and like it a lot as well.
It was around $205 shipped IIRC. The instructions for adjustment are a little odd, but can be followed okay. I ended up being able to adjust without much help anyway.
I bought it from Ultra Dot West (ultradotwest.com) and dealt with an extremely helpful Heather. It was even on a Sunday via email!

If you don't mind the size. I have good luck with the Tasco and BSA red dot. I think they are 30mm. I have a couple of them on .22's and have never had any problem. Except maybe killing a battery. I am not too crazy about the multi color ones you cant turn the brightness down enough. I also have one of the small Dr. Optics or something like that it is hard to adjust and mine wont stay put It cost around 200 bucks I'm sure they are better now mine is several years old. I like the 30 dollar one better. Not sure if you can still buy it for that at wally world or not. Been a few years since I bought mine. Besides its wally world,if you don't like it take it back.

I have an L/T Ultra Dot on my 7" with a Weigang Mount. My experience with the Ultra Dot is the RED dot is crystal clear out doors. In doors the Dot is slightly fuzzy on the circumference.
Bought it from Ultra Dot West. Heather is real nice until the bill is paid. If you need recourse or have to return it for any reason the action changes.
Buy from a dealer that will take returns.

I have an Ultra Dot and a Doctor on M41 barrels, both work well, I have had no problems with either. The Docter is a much finer piece of equipment as it well should be at the price. If I needed another I think I would buy a Burris "Fast Fire", very similar to the Docter.
Unless you are a Bullseye Shooter, I think the tube sights are slow, that's just my opinion.

UltraDot West had the best price. Item was shipped promptly. There was a $5. error on their end and Heather was pretty miserable about straightening it out. But we did get it right after some aggravation.

I will try the Ultra Dot Pan A/V next.

Hi Folks,
I recenly purchased a UD sight from UD West and when it got here it made everything viewed through the tube look 25/30% smaller than with the naked eye.
I e-mailed Heather and she responded quickly saying "There must be something wrong with the sight. Return it for exchange"
I sent it back and had a new one in a week's time.
I had good service from them and would/will buy from them again.
All this took place in the last month.

My 41 wears a Burris fast fire two, which I like a lot ,for my 68 year old eyes. Some other folks especially new shooters have some trouble finding the dot, but once you learn how to do it it becomes natural.
