Model 41 Smith

I am trying to find what year my model 41 Smith is serial # no prefix no suffix 97xx. I need a rear sight for that year. Any help would be appreciated.

Below may help but it's incomplete

Checked the SWCA site and Model 41 S/N 9812 shipped in May 1958; so 97xx would be late 1957 - early 1958

Assuming it is a 7 1/2" barrel the rear sight was the same up to the 1990's I believe and they often come up on ebay

A 5" used a model 52 type rear sight

Thank you for the information . I have the standard Smith and Wesson fourth edition but it was no help on the four digit number.
