We inherited a S&W Model 41 Serial Number 18xxx. The gun is very sharp looking, has a muzzle brake, and I have a couple questions on it.
1) It was in a wooden box that has N3 Commemorative Trapper Edition. I can't find anything on a S&W N3 Commemorative Trapper Edition, so was the gun just placed into this box by random, or was there really a S&W N3 Trapper edition? There are no markings on the gun for it.
2) With the serial number being 18xxx, how do I determine how old it is, and the value of it should we decide to sell it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
