Model 41, using HV ammo

Safe certainly. Many people say that they do. IMO not the best idea though. Safety is not the issue. The M41 is a fine machine which you want to last forever, I have had mine for 40 years, shot countless rounds through it with zero breakage. I use standard vel. only. Why batter it more than necessary?

I second oldRoger's comments!!
Its a great pistol, why beat it up - even with the buffer.
If you need to shoot HV - get a Ruger.

Can I assume then that a buffer serves no useful purpose in the 41 ?

Bill - it probably does serve a good purpose BUT these pistols were engineered as target pistols using regular velocity ammo.
If someone just simply HAS to use HV, so be it but it defeats the purpose of this pistol IMO.
