I have the opportunity to buy what appears to be a very nice Model 41 (7 3/8" barrel with comp) on another forum. The pistol includes 3 mags, and is in fine shape, but does not have the box or papers. If some of you more experienced guys have any inclination, will you please take a stab at the approximate value?

Thanks,

-matt

I'd say anything south of $850 is a good deal. If it had the box it goes to about $1000. That's based on a 98% or better gun. I've seen some guys asking as high as $1200 without the box. The key word there is asking not selling. Hope that helps, I've bought 3 in the last couple of months and always check 41 pricing at every gun show in my area. I know that pricing varies in different reigons.

I paid $835 for mine in February--with box, and one mag but no paperwork. It's 1979 vintage without the comp or cocking indicator. I believe the cocking indicato is a sought after item and adds value. I believe I paid on the high end of current value based on gunbroker sales. $750 for mine would have been a good buy, I believe. That said, I've not made a better purchase and the addition of a Clark barrel and Matchdot made it even better.

thanks guys...i sent the guy a message saying i'd take his pistol if we can get together (he's about 80 miles away).

i'll make sure i post pictures if it comes to be.

I paid $595. last month for my 1959 model 7-3/8 barrelled M41 at a gunshop here in Canada. The finish is not bad and I would rate the gun about a 85%. It came just by itself with one mag but I already have a M46 with 4 mags so I am covered right there with that being my backup range gun. I believe my price was fair to pay for mine.

I paid $699 a few weeks ago for my 1976 5.5" M41 with cocking indicator in about 85% condition. I was happy with that, considering they seem to be as rare as hen's teeth around here these days.

I just picked up a second early '80's Mod 41 (7 3/8) last week. It's condition was LNIB (so 98+%), I do not believe it had ever been fired as there was no indication of it and I had to raise the sight when I got to the range. With my trade (excluding what I feel I lost on the trade), I figure I am in the range of $700 (with loss closer to $850); even with the loss I am pleased with the deal.
