My uncle gave me a model 41 after years of nagging him for it. He owned three. The one he gave me had a gold trigger. I asked him why the other ones didn't. He told me he bought it new like that from a gun shop in upstate NY in 1967. I am trying to figure out if it was factory installed or maybe someone at the gun shop did some smith work on it? Any help would be appreciated.

You have a great uncle, love the look of the gold trigger. Don't know if it's factory but I've seen them with the gold triggers before. Best of luck and enjoy your new toy.

It is very doubtful the plating is "FACTORY". A request for a letter from Jinks would be the best approach to see if any note of such work shows in the records. If you have the box, it would probably have a note on it if factory work was done.

Tom what is the best way to go about getting a letter. I will ask my uncle if he has the original box.

Very stylish, nice touch
I’m guessing the serial number as its very blurry, it appears the gun was made about 1964. Potentially giving a few years for the trigger to be done. Factory or non-factory such a nice gun should be reunited with its box regardless. If you do find the box there maybe something listed on the end label under special features if factory.
A factory letter request details is here:

The original buyer must have been a Browning guy who fell off the wagon to pick up one of the finest target pistols produced.

My two 60's era M41's have standard triggers.

But, that gold trigger really looks good !!!!

Thanks Aussie Collector. I will request a letter. I was wondering what is the best way to get a period correct box and papers. I would like to retire this fellow. I have purchased two newer ones to take its place.
