I mentioned on this Forum that I had a new seven-inch Model 41 on order direct from S&W's media department since November. It arrived at my dealer's in late April and I found it would almost never eject fired cases, even when using CCI SV ammo, which is what S&W states they use for test-firing. It is back at S&W now.
I did learn while shooting it the brief amount I did - less than 50 rounds - that my 75 year-old eyes struggle with open sights despite my having shooting glasses made with lenses ground to permit me to focus on both the sights and my target. Accordingly, as much as I will hate to, I may sell it on this Forum when it is returned.
It's a beautiful gun that is very comfortable in the hand but when you can't shoot something well, a lot of the enjoyment is lost.
