I just aquired a Model 41 on a trade with three magazines. No box, but the condition is really good for 33 years old. I was told that it probably shipped in 1992. I have shot it once and really like it. I am a Colt Fanboy and still love my Bullsey Match Target, but this is a great gun.

Anything I need to know about mine? I have heard some say that the quality really started to dip with these over time. When did that quality start to go down?

That looks like a nice one, I think the newer ones are not as pretty and the grips are now laminated wood. I have an older one from the early 70's and it is a great gun to shoot. I have said it before but model 41's seem to come in to versions. One version shoots great with any ammo and rarely if ever acts up and the other version is a royal pain in the back side, only likes certain ammo, jams etc. If yours shoots well enjoy it. I have over 15 thousand rounds through mine.
