LGD has a 4" blue. Serial #M629xxx, square butt alloy cylinder. Approximately 95 to 97%, no box or papers. Don't have any pics yet, but they are forthcoming. What is the average going rate for one of these? Just curious as he hasn't priced it yet, but is thinking maybe $500. So, what is the concensus??

I'd say upper end of the price range as described, you wouldn't have to feel too guilty if you paid that and really liked the gun.

The barrel is 3.5 inches on the 43. The frame is alloy and the cylinder and barrel are steel. Here's mine with Mustang grips. Very handy plinker/field gun. Pricing is a little on the high side, but not out of line in these parts.

I'm pretty sure the Model 43's cylinder is aluminum, too. At least mine is, S/N 148XX. Well, mine was made before 1957's model numbers were assigned, so it's not really a Model 43, it's just a .22/32 Kit Gun Airweight, but there wasn't much in the way of changes from begginning to end of the series.

That's a nice one, heysox.

I stand corrected. I pulled out the SCSW this morning and big as life it states that the 43 has an aluminum cylinder. Checking facts before posting is a good policy in future.

I re-checked the serial number and it is actually M394xx. I will post pics tonight as I'm on my way out the door right now.

I was at the Indy 1500 gun show last week looking at various j frames. One dealer had a very nice example in the box, but he wanted $850.00. I carefully put the gun down, and walked off. They are neat, but not that neat. $500.00 for a clean example is about right. There aren't many for sale.
