That's my dream small cal revolver but so out of reach for something to plink with.

Is there another model with fixed iron sights in .22?

Colt makes a nice little .22 Cobra 3 inch but I would prefer S&W.

Any other choices?

I'm with you........I would order a M-45 as soon as it was brought out. We can keep hopin'.

I am always on the look out for the Model 45 post office edition.

Not many were made and they sometimes can be found under the
radar.

I guess the next choice would be a Colt double action revolver with
the fixed sights and the full size .38 frame in .22 lr.

I have a Colt Cobra .22 revolver with the 3 inch barrel. A pretty
revolver but it does not have the same heft and feel of a heavier
revolver, such as the model 45....

Colt's built a slightly larger equivalent to the S&W M-45 .22 LR M&P. The Colt's was the Official Police. Blue steel, 6 shot, fixed sights, 4, 5 or 6 inch barrels, checkered wooden stocks. I have one dear old Mom used to shoot a peeping tom about 1948. Just a bit bigger frame and cylinder than the K frame S&W.
