Hello All,
Just purchased a S&W model 459. Been hunting around for a 3rd gen 9mm... didnt want stainless though.
Last time i was at the gun show in Fort Worth there was only one 3rd gen 9mm. I s'pose i could have missed some. Anyway, Today there were at least 8-10. What is amazing is the price difference. but i reckon that is for another thread.
Oh Yeah, back to the 459. I know I said I was looking for a
3rd gen pistol... But this one was priced right, so it came home with me. Nice pistol, two mags, a 10 rnd and 15 rnd; but the 15 round needs, at the least, a new spring. Wouldnt feed the cartridges into the chamber after firing a couple of rounds.
The only other "problem" is the slide lock is darned hard to release. One other mentionable; I forgot about the long first trigger pull of a SA/DA pistol. Oh well.
I will touch base with S&W about shipping it back and having one of the armorers look at the pistol; and then let the spousal unit use the 459 for CHL.
Happy New Year.
Raymond
