Found a model 49 today while I wasn't looking. This is at least a 98% gun. Can't wait to get it all cleaned up and ready for some range time.
This is the first M49 I have seen so it had to be mine just happened into my local pawn shop and there it was. I know we need pictures but I am technically challenged.

Congratulations. Sometimes things just fall in place, don't they? Do you mind telling us what you paid for it? Thanks.

You did well. Model 49's dont pop up every day and when they do-they are not as affordable other models.

M49

You did good with your purchase. The first M49 I saw was in 1967, at my local PD, when I went to apply for a job. I thought it was the most neat looking gun I had ever seen. Now I have eignteen Bodyguards. Shown are my two M49's.

That is so weird...

I put a model 49 on lay-a-way last week and picked it up today. It is also like 98%. And I bought it also for $350.00. If you are in Georgia that would really put it over the top. As it is I feel like the might be twins...
I have dated mine to 1979. I will be shooting it tomorrow and posting photos also. Enjoy.

Not sure when mine was made. It has an ALDXXX serial number. It looks like 1986 or 1987 I think. If anyone has further info when made I would appreciate it. If I lived in Ga. I would think we bought the same gun.

Mine has the pinned barrel, so I suppose that makes it pre-1980. I haven't tried to track the ser # nor popped for a letter.
I actually swapped for a nickel 442, when I decided I wanted no-snag SA.
Aw, heck...I've posted it on two other threads, but we can't have too much M49 love!
