I was at my local shooting range/gun shop today reducing my supply of .44 Special, .45 Colt, and .455 Webley reloads. After a satisfying hour and a half on the range, I checked out the used gun case not expecting to find much. But there among the used Glocks and Tauruses was a Model 52-2 sitting on top of its blue Bangor-Punta box with a price tag of $775!

The gun and box are in pristine condition with all the paperwork and all the tools in the original plastic bag. Needless to say, I couldn't get my credit card out fast enough and after the NICS check brought this beauty home for disassembly and cleaning/lubrication. It appears unfired, but I can't be sure of that. If it is unfired, it won't remain that way for long!

The serial number puts it in the 1978-1979 range. I've been reloading .38 Special wadcutters for over 40 years, but would appreciate any special considerations for reloading for this gun. The trigger is phenomenal, about the same as my SA K-38 that I bought new in 1966.

I'll post a range report next week.

Great find at a really great price! Congratulations!
The real trick to loading for the 52 is to be certain that top of the bullet is flush with the top of the case. I believe that Alliant's Bullseye is gives the best and most accurate load. The data is on their site.
I would also lean toward using the 148 Gr. LHBWC as that particular bullet seems to be the cat's meow for best accuracy. Although the DEWC is a very close second.
Enjoy your gun, it's one of the best!

Great catch... where are the pictures?
