I picked up my 52-2 today and the trigger weight with NRA weights is 2-1/4 lbs needs to be a tad higher that 2.5 I saw a guy on you tube tearing the whole gun apart to replace the trigger return spring can't you just change the main spring tension to accomplish this.? I will say it's a great trigger though. It appears someone may have been inside the gun (maybe) kind of hard to tell for sure and it was a hard decision to actually buy it since I really have no experience with this model I hope I didn't end up with a lemon. The gun does appear to have very little wear so it makes me wonder why anyone would get in there to do anything other than the factory. Any help on the trigger would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have never messed with a Model 52 trigger myself, beyond adjusting the over travel.

With that said, I have read where a quick and easy way to add weight (for the purpose of making it competition legal) is to carefully bend the sear spring.

Its the sear spring and bending it a little will bring it over 2.5 pounds. Years back I had to change my sear spring to comply with a 3 pound rule. I was given a slightly thicker sear spring and was told that I would have to install it and reassemble the 52 and check the weight. For me, it took about three bending sessions to get just under 3.25 pounds.
I just went downstairs to weigh my 52's trigger, and it "just" lifts the 3 pound weight. So the sear spring does relax over 25 years. lol

I wonder why that guy went thru all that trouble to install that trigger return spring then ? So it's just a simple tweak that's easy I can do that in my sleep.
Thanks !

I went back to watch the video and the guy said don't mess with the sear spring not sure why he would say that ? Anyway I will mess with mine and I ordered a couple new ones just in case, I also ordered a new main spring so between the two I should get the weight up a little with some tweaking.

My first ever 38S wad cutters man these things are tiny ! I am planning on adding cannelures to some and do testing with and without.

Start to accumulate wadcutter cases that already have the cannelures.

I have a Corbin cannelure tool I'm gonna do some testing with them. I ordered a C&H cannelure tool as well I'll set one up for the wad cutter cannelure and one for the brass.

There is a guy over on CastBoolits that supposedly makes one better than either Corbin's or C&H's. I bought one a couple of years ago but have never used it but appears to be extremely well made and the tooling has excellent heat treatment...supposedly...

Unfortunately he does not make them anymore I’m trying to find one I really need one like that the Corbin’s will not do my cases only the wad cutter.

What is a Corbin Cannelure tool? And how do you use it for reloading 148 gr HBWC's.I do my own reloading, never heard of such a tool!Any chance of sending a photo and if you could kindly explain how this tool benefits the process of Wadcutter reloading.I have a M52-2 and l am a competitive club shooter, with MISC,Melbourne, Australia, and if I can improve my grouping i would greatly appreciate your advice.Thanking You kindly, Demetrious 🤔

Watch this.

It sounds like the tools mentioned produce cannelures in the projectile.

What about case cannelures?
