I am trying to get back into BE competition after many years of no shooting. So, I need to reactivate my 52-2.

1. The slide stop does not seem to want to come out. What Am I doing wrong? It is not rusted. It just acts like there is something esle that I should do, not just remove the mag and put the safety on Fire, haul back the slide to the correct plosition, and push.
2. What adjustment should I use for the barrel nut? I cannot find the wrench that came with it (I assume, I do not recall). Any thoughts on where to get a new barrel wrench or substitute?
3. Are there any other suggestions as to recommissioning the old girl? She was a very sweet shooter, if I did my part.

Numrich gun parts did have the wrenches, I never used one, I just push down the plunger and put it on and off with my fingers and never really tighten it down that hard. I leave the safety off, remove the mag, and just pull the slide back to where the slide stop notch lines up with the slide stop crosspin and push out the slide stop, everything should just come off the front. A good cleaning and light oiling should put you back in action.
