I have been told that the Model 52 has a spring under the rear sight. I have a model 52 that has no spring. There is a hole that could be for a spring, but no spring. The guns shoots great and I have never experienced a problem, but I am curious about the spring. Anyone have any information on this? Thanks.

Rear Sight Springs M52

When you push down on your rear sight you should feel the sight move under its spring tension .
Underneath the rear sight body should be two springs in front of the elevation screw .
The springs push the rear sight up as you turn the elevation screw counter clockwise .
There is one more spring easily lost . When you remove the elevation screw you can loose the TINY spring and plunger that locks in the elevation adjustment .
