Model 52 Serial Numbers

Apparently some board members are unaware that The Model 52 has matching serial numbers on both the slide and the frame. On the models 52 and 52-1, the matching slide serial number is located under the extractor. On the model 52-2, the matching slide serial number is located under the rear sight. The attached pics illustrate this by showing partial serial numbers.

Ha, that's me, and I commented in the other thread.

Great pictures! I'm guessing the purpose of these was for internal use more than anything else. But still great information.

Makes total sense that Smith would do that, especially since they are hand fitted.
