howdy.
I'm the proud new owner of a model 53 22jet with the extra cylinder that I don't know how to exchange. I saw something about removing a screw on the opposite side but am hesitant to do that without consulting an "expert".
Can anyone out there tell me the secret to exchanging the cylingers and perhaps where I can get a new set of grips that don't look like they've been used to drive nails?

Welcome to the Forum Mike. Congrats on the dual cylinder Jet!
The front screw on the sideplate (closest to the muzzle) needs to be removed [with proper screwdriver]. Once you do that, the complete cylinder and crane will come out of frame. Then slide the cylinder off the crane. Reverse process with 22 cylinder ..........don't forget to flip the firing pin to other position on the hammer.
Note: if your auxillary cylinder does not have a matching serial number to your gun on the face, I'd take a micrometer and make sure they are same lenghth and that the ejector has been fitted to that gun.
Please post some pictures in the 1961 to '80 category.
Post yourself a "wanted ad" in the classified for the style of target stocks you are looking for.
