Try looking through gunbroker recent sales.
Barrel length will affect price as well. 4" and 6" usually will bring more than the 8" guns.
Whether or not it has original grips can also affect the value.
Thanks, any idea of current value?
What did you pay for it? That is what the gun is worth.![]()
Unless you intend to sell it immediately what difference does market value make?
Sounds like a very nice gun. Got any pictures to share of your 57-1?

That sure looks nice. I love the 57's and 58's.
Nice-looking piece. With the correct grips I would say it's likely worth approximately $1000 in today's market.

Came with a set of Houge finger groove wood grips on it. I have a nice set of S&W grips from the mid 80's on the way.
I'll see about putting a few pictures up, all these forums have different image requirements

5 rounds into a 4" group at 50 yards with a new-to-you 41 Magnum? No, not shabby at all. I'd say that is quite impressive.BTW have a range report, used some NOS Winchester 210 grain soft point ammo and was brave & started right out at 50 yards. Shooting off the bags put 5 rounds into 4" not too terribly shabby.

I agree, think that'd be the value here in my neck of the woods in Western Washington. I came out pretty good on this particular deal. Will take it to the range with me today & do a test run on it.
