It has been some time since I have posted,
Today I stumbled across a rough S prefix model 58 with aftermarket grips
It is a shooter grade nothing pretty and needs some TLC timing is good but seems to be a little play when locked up in rotation no slack front to back and appears to be no shaving on forcing cone. Is this 58 something that I would be able to send to S&W for an inspection and rehabilitation of its mechanics? Hope to get through to them in the AM
Thanks in advance

And if they won't, I highly recommend Matt Almeda at Revolver Armorer in Va. He's rebuilt a few S&Ws for me... and told me when one was too far gone. Good work, good turnaround time, and fairly priced. He and his wife Gwen are good people.

Call S & W and speak with one of the techs. Your will find them very personable and helpful.

I sent my Model 58 in last year for refinish and replacement of any parts necessary. I found them very reasonable and their work was above reproach. They will work on your Model 58.
