Your description is still lacking. How about a barrel length? How about a serial number? Seriously, any additional information other than "I can't load more pictures" would be helpful for others and myself to help you.

If it's a 586-7 and a Performance Center model, that would likely be the three inch compensated barrel, seven shot 586 L-Comp.

What means "special" to you?

If you're asking if it's scarce, rare or collectable, no to all. Just a good L-frame.

Pictures would surely help us. If you have the original box, the 6 digit product code printed on the end label would also help

More pics, alas. Hard to judge without seeing condition, knowing some history and what else the revolver comes with.

Also, double check on six shots because something's amiss; I don't think S&W made a 586-7 Performance Center model with only six (though I've been wrong before).

I think the 4" power port 586 that was made for the GIGN was only 6 shots

I have a 3" L-comp, but would love to own the 4" version to go with it

That absolutely looks like an L-comp with the exception of the 6 shot cylinder

I suppose one of the previous owners might have swapped the 7 shot cylinder out for a 6 shot cylinder at one time

Well, I'm snookered -- that indeed looks like a 3" PC 586-7 with six shots. Has the lock, but also looks like forged hammer and trigger, which S&W discontinued for PC guns around 2014.

Someone break out THE BIG BOOK, we need to get to the bottom of this...

Provenance and condition need to be determined; if it's all factory, unused and comes with everything it originally sold with, plus an oddball 6-shot at that, might fetch around what current NIB models do (street price, which is generally a little less than MSRP) or a bit more.

If it's been "converted" by bubba and for sale "as is no refunds" with an unrelated S&W box seller got his hands on, not sure it would be worth anything to me.

That wood case obviously did not come with the revolver.

The cylinder on the gun you pictured is not set up for moon clips where a new L-comp would be.

The 586 L-comp is a current production revolver that has an MSRP of $1208

Obviously no one buys for full retail and new ones can be purchased for around $1,000 in most parts of the country

So a used L-comp with the wrong cylinder, no box, no accessories, no moon clips and no paperwork . . . If I had to pay more than $750 for something like that, I would go buy a new one instead. Then it would be correct and I would have the full warranty that comes with a new firearm

586-7 L-Comp

I didn't like the comp, but loved the action. Sent it back and had the 4" bbl screwed on. Pinnacle did the 9mm cylinder, it's great for shooting steel plate, lot's of fun. Magnum cylinder for carry, and I do carry it!
