Fell into something last week that I'm told may be pretty hard to find. NIB model 60-1 supposedly made for Ashlands in 1986 in a pretty limited number. This gun with adjustable sights is the first 2" snubbie I've seen with these sights. If this is correct can anyone shed some light on the market value? Thanx in advance. S/N ANB52XX. Will try to post pics later.

Yes, you are a lucky so-and-so! Congratulations on finding a really desirable variation, with supposedly only 660 made. It's on my grail list, way out there in the "I wish I could but doubt I ever will" category!

The 2" model 60 Chief's Special Target has been a favorite of mine for more than two dozen years. The only reason I switched away from it was that the J-Magnum Chief's Special was released.

With only 660 produced and those of us that own them unwilling to part with them at any price, market value is in the eye of the purchaser.

Yes I know I need to polish it up and make it look nicer. It spent a decade being carried in a Galco Ankle Golve

Thanks guys. Colt SAA i know what you mean about the polishing issue. I have a 042, the black looking one that didn't hold up finish wise very well. I carried it as a back-up in Galco ankle glove and as offo-duty gun from early 90s when i bought it till retirement and still carry it. It looks looks hell and many have suggested robar, cerakote etc but I resist.....I say character, this is still my go-to gun and one of two I still qualify with yearly as part of retired LEO carry requirements.

Congratulations! I, too, am one of the fortunate to own a NIB Ashland. They're out there...In fact, I found another nice one a couple of years ago at a local GS laying on dealer's "used table". It had wrong grips on it and they didn't know what it was. I bought it, put correct grips on it and sold it to someone who knew what it was which allowed me to pay for the NIB one!

i'm in, too! they are cool little guns!

I'm lucky to have found a 60-4 in three inch. I've read on this forum that it is a target model with adjustable rear sight and one of only 500 made.
It shoots wonderfully and definitely not for sale.

Airman, thanks for input. My Dad (who passed Dec 8th this past year at 88) was a WW2 Navy Combat Airman. B24 in south pacific doing sub patrol for the toyoko blockades among other things. Still have two of his log books and if Mom can locate it a new patch for his coat that was never sewn on. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I am also the proud owner of a 60-4:

It is about the best trail gun and second gun to a bird gun extant. I have clipped the head off many a grouse and taken a number of snowshoe rabbits with the revolver while bird hunting in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Southeastern Ohio (cottontails in Ohio) and Southern Indiana.
