Model 60-10 "Small Hunter" S&W Factory Ported?

I stumbled across this very nice 60-4 with flash chromed trigger and hammer earlier this month. wish it were chambered for 357

Appears to have been fired very little. I discovered a loose ejector rod after exploring the reason behind slight cylinder bind upon opening.

The 3" frame with adjustable sights and full lug just seems to very versitile companion.

Does the OP's CBM gun have European proof marks?

Not that I can find.

I saw another post for an actual "Small Hunter" and noted the locations of the proof marks. Mine has none of those.

The serial number is in dot matrix, on the base of the frame and cylinder yoke. Another number is on the side of the frame (same format as serial number) 21596. I can also make out a lightly stamped B4 on the other side of the frame.

.... Another number is on the side of the frame...21596.....

If you mean on the yoke (the part that moves with the cylinder) then it's likely an assembly number. You'd find that same number on the back side of the side plate and on the grip frame when the stocks are removed. That number is used to keep those three matched and fitted parts together during manufacturing.

B4 may of been an inspector's mark. Take the stocks off and there will be half a dozen mysterious little marks and symbols all over the grip frame.
