I have an older model 60 (no dash) with a bobbed hammer. I would prefer a hammer spur and I am looking for a replacement. Numrich Arms has 2 hammer assemblies listed, one says Hammer Assembly (.240) and the other says Hammer Assembly (.375 CR). Does anyone know the difference between the two? Does that refer to the spur width? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the numbers shown are the width of the spur. Yours should have had the .240" hammer from the factory.I just checked the Numrich website- it looks like the bobbed hammer & the .375" hammer are both sold out but they still have the 240 hammer & 240 stripped hammer. I'm not sure what the CR on the 375" means, unless it's chrome. Also not sure if the 240 hammer shown is stainless or flash chrome (model 60 came with both) or even case-hardened. The stripped hammer is apparently stainless.
If you wanna sell your bobbed hammer after you do the swap, let me know.

One technique to avoid problems with fit when installing a different hammer is to switch the double action strut from the old hammer to the new.

I'm not saying itd ever happenagain, but I've dropped in hammers on two different Chiefs and they worked fine. Now triggers....that's another story.
