Model 60 Lady Smith

I have a Model 60 that's got Lady Smith written on it in real nice script, and it has rosewood grips. It's new, but there's no box, papers or owner's manual.

What is it worth?

A picture would be VERY helpful, but if it is, indeed, new, but with no accessories, I would pay between $400-$500 for it. But again, hard to say without at least getting to take a look at it.

When you say new, do you mean recent production or an older gun that has never been fired? Better yet, what variation? The -7 is generally considered the best version and they were made in LadySmith style too. In my opinion a used -7 is worth more than anything made today.

It's a model 60-7 Lady Smith. It's an older gun that has never been fired. It sat in my Dad's safe and was never taken out except to wipe it down. He bought it for my Mom to carry concealed, but she would rather carry snakes in her purse than a firearm. It was never used...never even saw the firing range. If there's some interest I can post some photos.

I don't know what it's worth, but others can tell you that.

I can tell you that is one of the sweetest, most desirable, guns S&W has ever made. A Model 65 with a nicely slickered up trigger and fancy grips.

With no extras, that one will bring right at 375.00-425.00. I have been closely watching and trying to bid successfully at the auction site for about 18 months{with no luck} . Most of the ones that sell are boxed, papered, and complete, and sell for a little more $. Most of the ones that do not sell are overpriced from the start of the auction!

Yes, you have the highly esteemed Model 60-7. I have had two of the standard versions over the years and I recently bought a used LadySmith exactly like yours from a fellow Forum member. As far as I'm concerned, every version up to the -6 was an attempt at making it better and every version after -7 was an attempt to cut costs and cheapen the product in some way. If yours is indeed unfired, it is worth more than any equivalent Model 60 being made today. If you insist on selling it, hold out for top dollar. If you want to have the absolute best steel frame snub nose .38 revolver that was ever made, keep it and shoot it.

I saw one of these recently at a small town gun show. Got close to buying it, but it had a very visible scratch in the sideplate near the LadySmith lettering, and the dealer wouldn't budge on the price.

Seems like it would be hard to repair a scratch in the frosted stainless finish.
