Model 60 No Dash, Pinned Barrel

At a LGS this afternoon and saw a Model 60 no dash with pinned barrel. SN R1822XX looks like it might date to mid/late 70's....sound about right or? It is a consignment gun that they just got in, so the owner may not be in a bargaining frame of mind...asking price is $550.00. I thought it had after market wood grips, but when I called back the LGS said were Smith grips ('factory'), though I don't know if he said that simply because it has medalions. They overlapped the frame bottom so S.N. could not be seen. The LGS said it was brought in by the widow of a Police Chief....might have an interesting 'history' (provenance could likely be discovered). No box, papers, etc. but appears to be well taken care of and in above average condition. Looking for comments...pro and/or con, would you do it for that price?

Yep, R1000000-R190000 was from 1974-1977 so you nailed the right timeframe. Good guns; price may be a bit high without the box and possibly wrong stocks, but worth a look at that model online to see comparable selling prices, not the listed prices.

I would've bought it when I first saw it. You'd easily get your $$ back, IMO.
