I have a S&W Model 60 (no dash) that I purchased years ago. I have the SCSW book (3rd edition, 2006) and cannot find my serial number listed. I am probably experiencing a serious case of brain gas. The serial number is AEC5884. The original box has a Product Code of 102303. I was wondering what the year of manufacture would be.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

SUW M-60 Square Butt

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it. I thought I was going crazy not finding any info on my M-60 Square butt in the SCSW book.

VPNAVY, thanks for that link about the M-60. quite interesting!

I used to have an FFL, which I used to purchase this revolver. I have moved a few times & I am having problems finding my FFL records for this weapon. I have all the reciepts & papers from all of my other FFL weapons. I had to turn in my Bound Book to the ATF upon closing out the license. I made copies of the book, but cannot locate them.

I emailed S&W previously and received an email reply which said to call the historian (they gave me the phone #). I called and spoke to the gentleman. When I asked for the date of manufacture he got a little huffy with me. I guess he was very busy & thought the S&W email person should have handled it. I never got the Date from him. So thanks for the help. I am getting things ready so when I leave this world my kids can have as much info on my firearms as possible (hopefully it will be a while yet).

They get hundred's of requests every month. What you have do is formally request a Factory Letter for your firearm. Jump over to: Factory Letter Request Form (Word Document)

Hope this helps.
