Way back a long time ago (well, maybe not that long), before S&W started making funny looking guns with strange metals and alloys in them and started putting the silly little lock on the side, they made a J frame .357 magnum revolver, model 60. It was very similar in appearance to the 60-4. Does anyone know what model number that was and how scarce are they? They sure are hard to find.

I could be wrong but I think it was a 60-1 it came out late 95 or 96 no dumb lock or MIM parts. I'm sure there are guys on here that know for sure.

60-10 is the .357 version of the 60-4, but I believe the 60-10 had MIM hammer and trigger.

the 60-10 did have MIM Hammer and Trigger. I dont think there was another adj sighted 3" model 60 that had forged parts besides the 60-4

I have a post on the reloading forum at this time asking for powder info for my Mod 60. It is in Ma and I am in Fl so I can't check the gun or box to see if they are a dash model. Mine is about 6 or 8 years old. It is a Mod 60 .357 2 1/8" SS RB pre lock. I had thought about selling it but right now you don't see any for sale so I'm keeping mine. They are sweet little guns.

60-9 in 1996 was the first revision built on the slightly larger "J-Magnum" frame, and chambered for 357 magnum was an option. They later were 357 mag only.
