serial# CTK4742 can someone help me with date of manufacture

I am not the go to guy date your gun, but I am sure some one will come along soon. By chance have you taken off the grips on your gun? If so, did you find anything odd?




I love mine. The 6" is relatively new, and the one with the odd holes in the frame. If you search this forum, you can find my post seeking information on them.

If 2269 is the Julian date, I'd say 2012- but that's just a guess.

Am sure others better informed than I will chime in

Howdy. I got a couple boxes out and looked at what I had. My 617 has a newer style label and includes a QR code. My 2015 year 686 has the newer style label, but no QR code. So, your label would seem to indicate a manufacture date of 2269, or September 25 of 2012 OR 2002. The -6 version has been around since 2001 per the scsw, however, it doesn't show the "CTK" serial prefix being used in either year. That's as good as I can do. Good luck!

CTY prefix was from March of 2013, so CTK was definitely 2012. I think the gentleman above nailed the correct date as 09-25-2012
