I have a model 624 coming soon and was wondering if anyone had an original holster for this? It is a 3", and has a serial # starting with ALW. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you find one of those you will be VERY lucky.
According to the latest (got it a couple days ago) Dillon catalog, which has a cool 2 page article on the 44 special, there were only 1000 of those made.
1000 for the 3" 624 and maybe 1000 for the 3" 24-3 that preceded the 624 by a year.
Both were allegedly made by Gould and Goodrich.
Here's what they look like:

Like hen's teeth....but they do show up from time to time on this site. Good luck. About a month ago I saw a left hand one on flea bay

I saw a RH one on eBay last month that quickly bid into the three digits. They pop up on GunBroker too.

Best place is right here...it's where I got mine.

Alright here it is with the original grips.
They (the grips) don't suit me so I use either Pach's or a set of Spegels (ebony) I had made for it.
BTW those holsters work fine for the L frame 44 specials except the 396 which has a very high front sight.
Guess you could say I like 44 Spl. snubbies.

NICE! Why wouldn't you like them? Bob

Alright guys, I need a good handload for shooting paper, and a good one for carry. Thanks in advance.

The main challenge loading the 624's is that they have quite large cylinder throats (up to .433").
This means you want shoot large soft bullets with enough initial punch to upset them to this diameter.
The 200 grain Speer GDHP is a very soft plated bullet and will shoot well in these guns over 6 grains Unique or Universal.
Expensive for a paper puncher but it is a good carry load as it duplicates Speer's factory offering.
Substitute a 240 SWC and you have pretty good range fodder.
Missouri Bullet has some softer SWC's designed for cowboy shooting.
I would try those in the coated variety.
I am just getting into those and they rock.

Try Bayou Bullets, I ordered a thousand 240gr intended for my 44mags, but if they shoot well I'll load some for the 44spl. I just loaded 65 up for my 44mags, will shoot them this weekend hopefully, they are SWC.
