Just traded for a never fired in box 627, 2 5/8 barrel. So far I am very pleased with it. I don't see many of them. Anyone else have one and what do ya think of it ?

I like mine, it's very accurate. It's a 627 PC. I don't like the original grips and changed them, but here's a picture of the way it came. Now I just need to get 8 round speed loaders.

I''ve got a 627 V-Comp and love it. I use the moon clips from Hearthco. You can't go wrong with the best. I've got an Accu Comp Red Dot on it and can change from 2minute dot to 16 if I remember correctly. I use the smallest for sighting in and the largesst for quick shots like The Steel Challenge.

This is my 10th 627 so yeah, I like them a lot.

I had one of the original 627 no dash with the 5 1/2" barrels . Dummy me I sold it .

I have two. A 4" Pro and a 5" PC V comp. They are great revolvers. Use them both in local plate matches.

My 4" 627 makes me like the .357 Magnum. Frankly I never cared for the cartridge until they put eight of them into the N Frame. My 627 is wonderfully accurate and easy to shoot. It's the only MIM gun I own and I love it, as long as I don't remove the sideplate and look at the innards...

I like mine pretty good...kinda so-so now that the novelty has worn off some.

It's "627-PC" marked inside the frame. I like it better for shooting/carrying with the Pachmayr Compaq grips shown in the 2nd pic. The original style Eagle boot grips feel wimpy.

Cocked&Locked I did the same with mine. I have two one with fluted cylinder and one without. Also have 627 Pro Series I put a set of Square Butt presentations on that. I just love having 8 rounds of .357 ready to go.

I really like the 627 - especially the 2 5/8" PC 627 UDR as I bought two and and gripped them similarly:

My first 627 was a JM PC627 V-Comp, which I also enjoyed. It's sale enabled the second UDR's purchase. It had taken second chair to my 4" 627 Pro - a great revolver, too. I like the OEM moonclips, available direct from Ranch Products quite reasonably, and the 5starfirearms.com speedloaders, too:

I really like mine, here it is with "The Plug" installed and some grips I salvaged from a junk pile.

Hey Stainz, my 627 Pro 4" is looking for a set of wood grips and is torn between the Ahrends either with finger grooves or smooth.

I see you've got both in your photo... can I talk you into describing the feel and handling of each in relation to each other, or the Hogues that S&W puts on them?

The Hogues mine came with are a bit too mushy for me, but I'm not certain whether to consider grooved wood or smooth ...

Thank you!

James

P.S. To the original poster... I LOVE my 627. It was my first revolver, and will be with me until the day I depart the planet. In fact, my two sons are already eyeing it.... I look forward to picking up another before that day, so they won't have to duel for it!

I just picked up this 627-5 used in a LGS for $600 last week. I've only shot it once, but I was immediately impressed, along with my brother and wife who both shot it as well. We all felt it was a tack driver. I ran .38 special loads, +P loads, and full house .357 Magnum loads through it(all in .357 cases), I thought it shot great.

Sorry about the crappy pic, it's a cell phone pic and all I have so far. I ordered some wood finger groove grips for it, when those come in I'll try and get some better pics.
