If you are going to use the 629 for HD/SD purposes, the Laser Grips are a fine choice. They are durable and reliable and give you rapid target acquisition w/o the necessity to bring the weapon up to eye level. I have used them on several carry weapons, and currently have them on my Colt 1911 and my 642,both of which I carry. If however, you are going to use your 629 for target shooting, steel plates, silhouettes, or hunting IMHO you would be better served with a Red Dot sight like an Aimpoint, or a Micro Dot etc. Both are a BIG help to old geezers with poor eyesight like myself.

Joe; Thanks for your reply, I have a 3 inch trail boss that I use for mostly personal protection @ home but I do carry it in the field. I love the gun, recoil is not as harsh as I thought it would be.
