Model 63 Serial/Date/Dash question

Howdy

Just acquired another of many model 63's. Serial is: ABC00xx.

If my Smith book serves me correctly, it was built around 1982?

Was surprised to see that this one is a "no-dash."

2 Questions:
1. At what point/date/serial did Smith stamp dash numbers on this model?
2. I have a number of "no-dash" and 63-3. I have never seen a 63-1 or 63-2. Were there ever any?

The standard reference states the 63-1 replaced the 63 when the barrel pin went away, but I have never seen a -1 - I suspect the 63 continued through without the pin.

The 63-2 was a Lew Horton special; never seen one of these either. I think the -3 replaced the 63 as the standard 4".

My 63 no dash sn M196XXX (1982 I think) is not pinned. I haven't seen a -1 or a -2 either, that I remember anyway, and don't have a -3, but do have a five inch -4.
