Hello -

New member here with a freshly acquired model 638. I'm thinking about putting in one of the Wolff springs to lighten up the trigger pull. But I can't find a diagram or a photo showing me the lock work, specifically how the transfer bar needs to be positioned before replacing the side plate. Can anyone point me to a link where I can find this?
Thanks.

The insides of any J-frame is pretty much identical to any other one. And even the J's have a lot of simularites with all the other frames. All Smiths are basically the same action. You don't need a Bodyguard specific diagram.

Also, Rugers have transfer bars. Smiths have hammer blocks. They are kind of exact opposites that achieve the same purpose. The hammer blocks fits with the leg down, and you won't get the side plate closed without it being in the correct position. So, don't try to force the side plate.
