I have an opportunity to purchase a model 64 in very good condition for $350. Is this a good value price?

Short answer is YES!
The model 64 came with 2, 3, or 4 inch barrels and any one of them would be an outstanding to spectacular buy at $350. The 3 inch came with a heavy barrel and 4 inch barrel came with either the standard 'tapered' barrel or the heavy barrel.
I have one of each except the 4 inch heavy barrel and would jump at the chance to get one a $350.

I don’t even like stainless and would buy at that price without question. The 4” is the most common. If it is a 2 or 3 inch that prices is about half what they typically go for

Yeah I didn't want to admit it, but I paid $700 for a very nice 2" last year.

Any no lock K frame in VG is a buy at $350.

I paid 5 bills for a mint 64 with a tapered barrel and grips numbered to the frame. No box or paperwork though.

Yes, great deal. I can't explain why, because I really prefer blued guns, but my 64 goes to the range with me every time. Often, I only take it and one other. I shoot it almost exclusively double action, and always at 15 yards. If I had to keep only one revolver, it would likely be my Model 64 with its rubber Hogue grips.

At my LGS a widow came in and put her late husband's 64 2" RB, unfired with OEM grips, a set of pachmyer finger groove wood laminate and a set of Altamont combat grips. Marked at $450, asked the clerk the lowest price, was told $400 plus tax and fees. Went home with me 15m later along with a bnib Tisas Tanker 1911 4" for $299

At one time a year or 2 back, I can't remember if it was budsgunshop or someone else, but they had a bunch of 64 's in 2&4" bbl''s some 65s, 10hb and a few others, police trade ins for like 250 each. I picked up 2-3 of each. Out of all I only had to scrap one, but parted it out to my parts bin. Aim surplus on occasion gets in great deals.

Model 64 and 67 are the pinnacle of K frame .38 Special Smith and Wessons.

I also bought 2 police trade in M64's, 4" HB, for $280 each back in 2017
One was fine the other needed some work, had some push off, but corrected that
both are nice reliable guns,
gave one to my youngest daughter, both shoot very well

I have a 2" and a 4" pencil, and they are absolute sweethearts. They are stainless, with hardchromed forged internals. The slick up wonderfully well.

Not a commercial holster. Made by one of my fellow officers back in the 1970s. I still use it. We carried Model 10s 4” so you could use it with a longer barrel as the bottom is open. Very flexible leather so really conforms to your body. Not stiff leather like a lot of them made today.

A local shop had a 4" pencil and a 2" 64; they both followed me home, though not simultaneously. The pencil was a police turn in.
