Model 649 .357 holsters

I have a 649 .357 with a 2 1/8" barrel and I am having a really hard time trying to find a good leather OWB holster. Everything I find is either Kydex or if its leather, it's IWB. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to where I can find one? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. The Holster Store (check their web site) seems to have one that might be satisfactory. They call it the Pro-Carry Belt Ride. They say it is for two-inch guns, but because it is an open-toe design it would accommodate the slightly longer J-magnum barrels. Not sure about the additional cylinder length, though.

I would think any J-magnum holster would work, though the physical profile of the 649 might make it appear to fit oddly. You might be in custom territory if you are looking for way to hold a 649 on your belt that is both secure and good-looking.

I regard the 649 highly but mostly think of it as a pocket carry firearm.

Welcome to the forum. Some of the best holsters around are made by some of our own forum members and vendors. Check out the vendors section towards the bottom of the page. Lobogunleather and Bell Charter Oaks are 2 of the best holster makers around, imo, both guys were street cops they know what works.

This Galco paddle holster works for me - no safety strap so it works for either M649 or M60.
