Model 649 .38 Spcl 1-7/8 in barrel

Hey Folks,

New to the forum here. I have a Model 649 .38 spcl with a 1-7/8 inch barrel in very good condition. I do not have the box or papers to go with it. Looking for approximate value as I havent found many for sale recently online, and I am considering selling it. I appreciate any insight y'all may have.

Sorry that I can not help you too much with value as I do not follow the Bodyguards.

That one looks to be in Very Good condition. The 649s were introduce at the SHOT Show in 1985. Production began at Serial Number AFN0001

Others Forum Members will probably ask if the original box is included or not. Also where are you located.

Since some States of the Union ban the importation of used firearms, any used firearm already located in those restrictive States tends to bring a higher price than similar revolvers located in the Free States

What dash number? 649-2 were heat-treated for +P loads. They might be worth a bit more than a no dash or 649-1.

Ballpark price? $450 - $500.

I have a 649-2. Love it.
