Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a Model 649 .357 snubby. It's my first revolver. I took off the rubber factory grip to clean it and lost the little coupling nut on the left side of the grip that the screw attaches to. I rigged it with something from my workbench, but it doesn't completely tighten. Can anyone tell me where I can find the hardware for this grip. Any advice would be appreciated.

It's hard to tell from your picture but it looks like the nut is on the bolt. I'm not sure since my bolt is black and nut is brass on mine and your bolt looks brass.
It looks like the nut is just held in place with adhesive.

Anyhow, the bolt and nut are standard 8-32 thread size. I'm guessing that it's going to be hard finding that part and you'll probably have to get a new grip panel or whole set of grips. I would try finding a rounded nut in the specialty fastener section of my hardware store. If that didn't work, I would just turn down the 8-32 brass nut that I have on hand in my parts bin.

If you don't want to spend any time or effort you could call S&W and see if they will warranty the grips and send you new ones.

Hope this helps
