I have a Model 65-5 3 inch bbl that has a shrouded extractor that is not a Lady Smith. I haven't been able to find anything on this gun, but I know Model 65 non Lady Smiths don't have a shrouded extractor, I own several.

Anybody have any thoughts?

Two possibilities come to mind; either a regular model 65-5 with a Lady Smith replacement barrel, or a 65-LS with a polish job and the logo removed. Cool gun. :)

Judging by how polished the finish looks - especially in the area below the cylinder window on the left side (where the LS logo would be), I'm betting it is an LS with the logo polished off.

IIRC there was one other 65 variation that had an ejector rod shroud - the name of which escapes me now. Getting old is not for the faint of heart.

Adios,

No it sure isn't, but that's where lookup comes in handy... and reading glasses, and... ;):D

You're probably thinking of "Hunter Smith", also 3" with a shrouded extractor... the much more manly  alternative to the otherwise identical Lady Smith. It was exported to Europe via WISCHO. Product code 102610 (the WISCHO version anyway)

edit:

65-5 Hunter Smith 3" **Letter added 9/1/17**
(Should be serial range BRA6773-BRA7194)
