Model 65 Lady Smith

I was able to pick this one up for my wife as she recently got her ccw permit and prefers revolvers. It doesn’t look like it’s been fired much and included the original soft case, outer cardboard sleeve and all paperwork.

Would I need to trade in my "man card"? Nah, since all my guns are female anyway, as in "ain't she a beaut".

The Lady Smith line was an interesting marketing ploy, but honestly, I don't think it was all that great of a scheme. A 3-inch Model 13/65 with an ejector rod shroud makes for a great CCW revolver.

OP - Congratulations! They are great guns!

I think they were a sales flop for S&W when they were available. But as with many things, once they are no longer in production, people suddenly want them!

I picked mine up several years ago at an auction - I think it's a perfect carry gun once you put better grips on it.

My wife likes to shoot the Model 65-5 Lady Smith more than any other gun. Just the right size and weight and with .38 ammo the recoil is manageable. She does not routinely carry a gun, so size is not an issue.

If she decides to start carrying there are other "Ladies" in the house. A 65-5, 60-7 and a 631.

Nice piece. I would pick one up if the price was right and available. the covered ejector rod adds to the desirability.

On a side note,

when I packed PC SW 45s on duty from 1998 till 2008, I was the odd ball as I carried something different than issued plastic.... and they would call my CQB4563... LadySmith or Hillary Special. All in good fun.

Very nice gift! I' m sure that she will love it. I carry a 65-5 sometimes. I think they are great guns for EDC.

In today's market, you could get BIG money for that gun. Would be a crime to EDC that one.
