Just thought I would share a couple of pictures of a Model 65 Ladysmith I picked up today at our local police supply store. It is in pretty decent shape, maybe 96-98% appearance, a small amount of carry wear. But it is tighter than just about any Smith revolver I have ever owned, absolutely rock solid lockup. Smooth DA pull. This one was a police trade, probably a confiscated gun, not LEO. Bore is perfect, little evidence of being shot. I hope to try it out soon. I gave $300 for it, which I think is a pretty good deal. I love 3 inch revolvers, it will go well with my 3 inch CS-1! Sorry for the so-so pictures, I am not as good a photographer as some of the guys on this board.

This one is probably a keeper. I plan to give it to my daughter when she is old enough to legally own it.

You are wrong. That was not a "pretty good deal." It was a steal!! Grips are perfect for CCW. If you want to shoot it a lot, put some rubber grips like Hogues. What a steal.

Great gun and great deal! You could easily get $550+ for it on Gunbroker.

Where is that store at? At 2 bucks a gallon
it might be worth the trip! What is comp
to the 65 lady smith in a man smith?

Congrats....I can never find these deals....That is a definite keeper.

The comparable Model 65 Ladysmith (which has a 3" barrel), for men, is the good ol' Model 65 with the 3" barrel. Basically, the same gun but with the exposed ejector and sans the rosewood grips from the factory.

You CAN dress up a "Mansmith" though . . .

ON A SIDE NOTE . . .

There was a discussion about a year ago here about if it was ok for men to carry a Ladysmith. You might want to search for it.

Some say they'd simply replace the side plate. To others of us, we'd leave 'em just like they are and carry one in a heartbeat. It is a great lookin' gun!!!

And . . . em . . . I don't think anyone would laugh too hard at a man carrying one! That's one serious little K frame . . . and one that looks GREAT!

To the OP, man, what a steal!

What a steal. I just recently bought a 4" 65-5 that is super tight and clean. Then I found out Brownell's still has 65 Ladysmith 3" barrels in stock and I'm seriously considering buying one and having the barrel swapped and frame bead blasted to match or the barrel polished out. I can't find anyone locally willing or able to do it though, and I'm afraid I might end up with more into the gun then it would be worth.

$300! You sir did very, very well. I paid $375.99 for mine. It came with a nice custom holster as well. Enjoy it, they are a fine CCW or just plain shooting gun.
