A friend just purchased a good looking 659. It's a tank. We got it sighted in but the trigger needs work. Double action must be 12 lbs or more and gritty. The single action has a lot of take-up, enough to throw off your aim, and the final 1/4" is tough to release with any consistency. If your finger isn't right where it needs to be you end up pulling hard enough to again throw you off. It usually results in low-left shot placement. What are the options to tune this trigger beyond replacing the springs?

The 659 was introduced in 1982 or 1983. When it was introduced, production of the 559 and 539 pistols ended.
Try using a good dry lube on the trigger rails in the frame after a good cleaning. The SA pull just takes geting used to. It was designed that way as a 2 stage Military/Police trigger not as a target trigger.
